Re: Costume Pic Post
My "Love is War" outfit. The megaphone and text are based on Hatsune Miku's "Love is War" music video, the "O1" designation, detached sleeves (which I used tattoos for and really like the look of) and color choices are based on Hatsune Miku's normal outfit, the pants and shoes are just because I haven't unlocked anything more fitting or interesting yet and finally the harness/holster are just to look cool, lol. Didn't unlock any harnesses myself yet so I grabbed a few from the market so I can't customize them (even grabbed one of Yakunan's shoulder harnesses but it doesn't go with the outfit =P).
I have another work-in-progress but I need to unlock a few more decent parts before I even put any effort into it.

Nice nice,
Hey if there is some piece of clothing you need designed that is not unlocked, just ask of our higher level players. I will help making items, most are unlocked already.

That's so funny, cause I got a screenshot of you earlier, and I was like , "hmmm, he totally blends into the surroundings", LOL.

I actually made a lot of small changes to my previous outfit as I went along. This is the way it currently looks:
But the main reason for posting is my new outfit. With a few more unlocks and a premium account I was able to make a more traditional Miku outfit =3 I still run with the Love is War one above, sometimes, but this is cool, too. I almost gave up on the thighhigh boots, though. In the character editor using the ballet flats and leg tattoos doesn't look all that great but when you're running around in-game it looks a lot better. The overlapping shirt is just careful decal usage and if it's Miku it's gotta be striped panties, of course, lol.

Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer, as are all the Vocaloids (there's a lot of them). The software was developed by Yamaha but they licensed it out and other companies to make voice banks for it. The most successful company to license it, by far, was Crypton Future Media Inc, based in Japan. Other companies licensed it, too, though, including the UK-based Zero G which produced a few English-speaking Vocaloids. The other companies aren't half as good at cultivating a community, though, so most people have never even heard of Vocaloid. Even in the US you'd be more likely to find someone that knows of Hatsune Miku, the Crypton-created Japanese Vocaloid rather than Lola the Zero-G-created English Vocaloid.
Anyway, it's a vocal synthesizer program and just like it sounds, an artist can use the software to compose vocals and it will output a singing voice. It takes quite a bit of talent to compose a quality Vocaloid song, though, it's not just like typing in some lyrics and pressing "Play" or whatever =P Then, of course, they put it to music to complete the song. Many also make full-fledged music videos, too.
For reference, this is one part of a tutorial of the software in action (Zero-G version for English convenience):
Then you put all that together with some music and you can make something like "Ai Kotoba" (Love Words) by Deco*27:
Or "Koi wa Sensou" (Love is War) by Supercell which is where the megaphone and lyrics used on my first character come from (whoever translated this kinda sucks but whatever):
